Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit and accept donations for the 2021 Citywide Spring Cleanup event.

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, will be holding the annual Citywide Spring Cleanup event on April 24th, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, the event is in partnership with the City’s Come Clean! program, that works in cooperation with local District Councils and with engaged community members who volunteer to help keep the City clean; and

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit and accept donations specifically for this event, including the donation of Chinook books valued at over $500; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (b) requires prior approval of the city council by resolution to solicit funds and/or property or services in kind on behalf of the city; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (d) permits solicitations of over $500 where the council provides authorization and the names of the designees are filed with the city clerk; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation, Marketing, PR and Permit Manager, Clare Cloyd and Parks and Recreation volunteer coordinator, Tricia Wehrle, are authorized to solicit and accept donations for the 2021 Citywide Spring Cleanup event; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (e) and (f), the names of those employees authorized to solicit donations for the Citywide Spring Cleanup event will be filed with the city clerk and the Department of Parks and Recreation will submit quarterly reports of all solicitations pursuant to this resolution to the city clerk, mayor and each councilperson.
