Amending the 2020 spending budget in the Department of Public Works General Fund Traffic Signals accounting unit.
Body
WHEREAS, City traffic signal systems have integral safety components that protect against malfunction and failure that could impact public safety; and
WHEREAS, conflict monitors are one of those safety components that should be tested annually to ensure proper and safe signal operation within the city of St. Paul traffic intersections; and
WHEREAS, the pandemic related budget adjustments in 2020 limited the ability to appropriately test conflict monitors; and
WHEREAS, for public safety conflict monitors should be examined and tested in 2020; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient savings in the Street Maintenance Service Program General Fund Subsidy accounting unit that are available to support this important testing; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $45,000 is available for transfer of appropriation in the Public Works General Fund budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
