Title

Granting municipal consent to the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s for the conversion of Robert Street to a 3-lane facility from 500 feet south of Plato Boulevard to Congress Street. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is scheduled to complete a micro surfacing project on Robert Street from Annapolis Street to 11th Street in the summer of 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, as part of the Robert Street micro surfacing project the Minnesota Department of Transportation is proposing to restripe the portion of the corridor from 500 feet south of Plato Boulevard to Congress Street from a 5/4 lane section to a 3 lane section; and

 

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has submitted a project report and layout for the conversion of this segment of Robert Street to the City for review, comment and municipal consent; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Works staff has reviewed the project report and layout and recommends approval; and

 

WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 161.164 requires the City to hold a public hearing prior to providing municipal consent; and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul grants municipal consent to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the conversion of Robert Street to a 3-lane facility from 500 feet south of Plato Boulevard to Congress Street.
