Amending Council File RLH AR 19-83 to delete the assessment for Property Clean Up services during April 12 to 29, 2019 at 697 VIRGINIA STREET. (File No. J1923A, Assessment No. 198556)

WHEREAS on September 4, 2019, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul adopted Council File No. RLH AR 19-83, said Resolution being the Ratification of Assessment for Property Clean Up services during April 12 to 29, 2019. (File No. J1923A, Assessment No. 198556); and
WHEREAS, the property at 697 Virginia Street, being described as: Humphrey’s Addition to Saint Paul Lot 28 Blk 2, with the property identification number 36-29-23-12-0019 was assessed an amount of $500; and
WHEREAS, Owner, Carlin Polaszek had contacted staff and indicated that she was not the owner during this abatement; therefore, she did not receive notification;
WHEREAS, a hearing was conducted on May 5, 2020 under File No. RLH SR 20-47 to review the matter and found that notifications were sent to previous owner during Carlin Polaszek’s ownership;
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends deleting the assessment due to improper notification; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the reduction of $500, plus any accrued interests, is deleted and the Offices of Financial Services will abate this reduction from the 2020 Property Taxes Statement.
