Title

Authorizing the City to enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the Washington Tech Safe Routes to School Project.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has applied to the Commissioner of Transportation for a grant from the Minnesota State Transportation Fund for Safe Routes to School Program; and

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has resolved to act as the Sponsoring Agency for the project identified as Washington Tech SRTS Improvements and has reviewed and approved the project as proposed (City Council Resolution RES 18-2071); and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation has given notice that funding for this project is available; and

WHEREAS, the amount of the grant has been determined to be $177,757.40 by reason of the lowest responsible bid.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Saint Paul does hereby agree to the terms and conditions of the grant consistent with Minnesota Statutes, section 174.40 and will pay any additional amount by which the cost exceeds the estimate, and will return to the Minnesota State Transportation Fund any amount appropriated for the project but not required; and 

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute a grant agreement and any amendments thereto with the Commissioner of Transportation concerning the above-referenced grant.
