Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness grant in the amount of $3,300 from the State of Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide advanced confined space structural collapse rescue training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the State of Minnesota would be $3,300 for the training; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 20% in-kind match of $825 which would be met with the salaries of the firefighters attending the training; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2019 Hazardous Material Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
