Returned Mail/Notice Concerns?:

Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): We received the enclosed notice regarding Raficiation of Assessment stating we owed Republic Services $5.12, and that a proposed assessment was in order to which we have now spendt over 2 hours trying to rectify. We received a bill back in September, one day prior to it being due and we weren't able to to get it paid but promptly mailed payment. We then received a late payment notice stating that we then owed $5.12 in late fee assessments. An ingenious way to make a fraudulent profit. We promptly paid the alleged late payment of $5.12 and paid to Republic (per the late payment bill they sent us.) After receiving the notice about tax assessments, calls were made to the Office of Financial Services and to Republic. Both entitiies stating they had no control over the situation and insinuating we should pay another $5.12. We were also told by Republic its "not our problem." Of course, it isn't, its ours and of your making to obtain additional monies. We are not paying another $5.12 and we are not being asessed another penny for this garbage bill problem created by the cty and Republic.

Staff Comments: Hauler confirmed that payment was received on 10/02/2019 requested that the assessment be removed. Staff recommends removal.
