Recognizing Bobby Kasper on his retirement as the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation President.

WHEREAS St. Paul Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, represents over 100 affiliate unions with more than 50,000 members who live or work in Ramsey, Washington, Dakota and Chisago counties; and
WHEREAS Robert "Bobby" Kasper was elected President of the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation by delegates in October 2009 and previously served as its Secretary-Treasurer; and
WHEREAS Bobby Kasper is a member of Laborers Local 563, based in the Twin Cities, and also served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Saint Paul Building & Construction Trades Council and member of the Minnesota AFL-CIO General Board; and
WHEREAS Bobby Kasper is a tireless labor leader who is retiring after devoting more than thirty years of his life to advancing the priorities of working families, organized labor, and the middle class; and
WHEREAS Bobby Kasper is celebrating his retirement this evening at the IBEW Local 110 Union Hall; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council and the workers of Saint Paul thank Bobby Kasper for his tremendous efforts and commitment over the last thirty years, including those as President of the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation, and wish him the best in his retirement.
