WHEREAS, The Science Museum’s mission is to turn on the science: inspire learning, inform policy, and Improve lives. The Science Museum is a 501©3 non-profit organization on the banks of the Mississippi River in Saint Paul occupying over 370,000 square feet of space including 10,000 square foot temporary exhibit gallery, five permanent galleries, acres of outdoor space, and Imax Convertible Dome Omnitheater that impacts over a million people from the City of Saint Paul and around the world every year through museums, school visits, exhibitions, and more; and
WHEREAS, the Science Museum invited the City of Saint Paul staff to host the City’s Equity Change Team Meeting at the Science Museum’s Discovery Hall; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul staff host quarterly Equity Change Team Meetings to work towards building a city that works for everyone, reflects the people we serve, and creates an inclusive and welcoming work environment in which all can thrive; and
WHEREAS, the Science Museum donated food and venue expenses which together cost approximately $1,200.00 dollars for the City of Saint Paul’s Equity Change Team Meeting held on December 5, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that these quarterly Equity Change Team Meetings provide an opportunity for all City of Saint Paul Departments, employees, and staff to develop strategies, obtain relevant and up-to-date knowledge on the City’s equity and inclusion efforts, trainings, policies, relationships, and uphold the City of Saint Paul’s 2019 Equity Work Plan; now, therefore, be it
