Accepting the gift of travel expenses from Cities of Service for Noel Nix to attend the Cities of Service Annual Convening in Dallas, TX from November 14-16, 2019.

WHEREAS, Cities of Service is a nonprofit organization that helps mayors build stronger cities by changing the way local government and citizens work together, and
WHEREAS, Cities of Service hosts an annual convening that brings together senior city staff leaders from over 40 cities gathers from across the Cities of Service coalition to network with their peers and share best practices and learnings around citizen engagement, and
WHEREAS, earlier this year the City of Saint Paul became a Cities of Service grantee as one of the five cities to be selected to receive a grant of $40,000 (RES 19-341 and RES 19-1362) as part of the Experience Matters program; and
WHEREAS, Noel Nix has been invited to represent the City of Saint Paul at the 2019 annual convening of the Cities of Service coalition in Dallas, TX on November 14-16, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Cities of Service has offered to cover the travel expenses, lodging and meals for Noel Nix to attend the convening; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, and development of a professional network; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses, lodging and meals for Noel Nix to attend the Cities of Service Annual Convening.
