Title

Authorizing the proper City officials to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with Ramsey County for the administration of Emergency Solutions Grant fund.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (“City”) receives Emergency Solutions Grant (“ESG”) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”); and

 

WHEREAS, Ramsey County (“County”) also receives ESG funds from HUD; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and County desire to more efficiently administer the deployment of ESG funds within the City of Saint Paul; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. Section 471.59, two or more governmental units may by an agreement entered into through the action of their governing bodies jointly exercise any common powers; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and County wish to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement as a means to accomplish the above-articulated desire; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that such means is an efficient method to administer the deployment of ESG funds within the City of Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Saint Paul City Council, that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to execute a Joint Powers Agreement in substantially the form as attached
