Approving the use of grant funds through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program for two projects in Ward 2.
Body
WHEREAS, on August 14, 2019, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed a Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program funding request from the Summit Hill Association for their Alley Safety Project and one from CPR Foods, LLC for a Bay Street Grill Exterior Security Camera; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood STAR Board rated the Summit Hill Alley Safety project a 3.5 and the Bay Street Grill Security Camera a 4.8 on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high); and
WHEREAS, due to the alley safety proposal being of substantial community significance, a waiver to the Neighborhood STAR Guidelines regarding a $1 for $1 match is being recommended; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of these activities by providing up to $5,000 in grant financing for the Alley Safety Project and up to $3,500 in grant financing for the Bay Street Grill security camera proposal through the Ward 2 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program; now be it
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the necessary grant documents to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
