Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): I have paid my bill through Allied Waste, the account was linked to my previous service which kept showing paid and I had to connect it to this system. The bill has been paid in full  #312568148052 is my confirmation number with Allied Waste.

Staff Comments: According to information provided by Republic Services, the last payment received on an old account with Republic was on 7/10/18. The only payment received on the current account under citywide garbage service was on 7/10/19 for $96.08. This payment covered garbage service for Quarter 3 2019. Republic Services did not receive any other payment for Quarter 4 2018, Quarter 1 2019, or Quarter 2 2019. The property owner is responsible for paying this delinquent charge.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during January to March 2019. (File No. CG1902C4, Assessment No. 190112) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment.
