Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): This was already paid as a credit is being held by the hauler.

Staff Comments: According to information provided by Republic Services, the property owner had a payment transferred from a previous account to his current acount on 1/24/19. This credit was applied to the Quarter 1 2019 bill because it was transferred after Republic Services already turned over the delinquent amount to the City on 1/5/19. The credit was not applied to the Quarter 4 2018 bill. Because Republic Services has not received payment for Quarter 4 2018, the property owner is responsible for paying the delinquent charge to the City.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Trash Hauling during Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during October to December 2018. (File No. CG1901A3, Assessment No. 190056) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby deleted.
