Authorizing the Police Department to accept a gift from the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to provide financial support for the Saint Paul Police Department canine unit; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation has received multiple donations and gifts for payment of certain costs associated with veterinary care, supplies and equipment, badge stickers, and five canines to replace recently retired canines in the unit; and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of this gift from the Foundation is $48,902; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department would like to accept the gift from the Foundation for which the governmental purpose is public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous gift and extends its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.
