Title

Authorizing the Saint Paul Public Library to accept the 21^st Century Community Learning Center Grant and amend the 2018 budget.

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency and the Saint Paul Public Schools have been awarded a 21^st Century Community Learning Center grant; and

WHEREAS, the SPPLA will work in collaboration with the SPPS as a consultant; and

WHEREAS, the 21^st Century Grant contract term is from February 12, 2018 to December 31, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the 21^st Century Grant award includes the hiring of a Library Associate 0.50 FTE and other program expenses not to exceed $21,870; and

WHEREAS, the 2018 financing and spending plan needs to be amended for this additional money; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $21,870 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 budget and recommends the changes as follows;  now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library Agency Board accepts the grant and approves the changes to the 2018 budget; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED that  Saint Paul Public Library is authorized  to enter into and to implement the attached agreement with the St Paul
