Setting fine amounts for violations of Section 157.03 (i) of the Legislative Code pertaining to parking for vehicles containing recyclable materials.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council has amended Chapter 157 of the Saint Paul Legislative code to reflect a new violation for parking a vehicle containing recyclable material on a residential street for more than thirty (30) minutes, codified as Legislative Code Section 157.03 (i); and

 

WHEREAS, the City’s regulation of parking for vehicles containing recyclable materials is substantially similar to the regulation of parking for garbage and rubbish trucks, which has an established fine of $100.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council has amended Chapter 15 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code and has renumbered prohibitions previously set forth in 15.11(c) pertaining to commercial vehicles containing recyclable materials and merged it with 157.11(b), now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the Ramsey County District Court to amend the City of Saint Paul’s Fine Schedule to reflect the following changes:

 

New Violation

 

157.03 (i).  Non-commercial vehicle containing recyclable material on a residential street for more than 30 minutes -- $100.00

 

Eliminated Violation

 

157.11(c).  Vehicle containing recyclable material collected for processing on a residential street for more than thirty (30) minutes.
