Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $125,000 for a contribution received from the State of Minnesota to pay for training and equipment for the Fire Department Hazardous Materials team.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has awarded a contribution of $125,000 to the Fire Department to pay for training and equipment for the Hazardous Materials team July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans for the contribution were established and approved on RES PH 18-212; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department is requesting to move the budget from the general fund - Fund 100 and into the grant fund - Fund 200 to more accurately record the expenses relating to this contribution; and

 

WHEREAS, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter and based on the request of the Fire Chief, to amend the 2018 general fund and grant fund budgets for the reallocation of funds and authorized by the Director of Financial Services to amend the budget in the following manner:

RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that the $125,000 is available for appropriation in the 2018 budget, and said budget amendment, as heretofore adopted by Council, is hereby amended as outlined in the attached financial analysis.
