National League of Cities Gift Acceptance Resolution

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency is participating in the Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) Initiative that will continue to equitably connect children to nature in Saint Paul through additional development of the Library's Nature Smart program that provides resources, programming and access for youth to interact with nature in their neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the Library has been a part of the first two phases and is now in the Implementation Phase; and
WHEREAS, the grant from CCCN will host one Library staff member at a national meeting in Chicago, Illinois from October 3-4, 2018 hosted by National League of Cities (NLC); and
WHEREAS, NLC has offered to pay for the costs of travel, meals, and lodging for one Library staff member; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the conference will further the goal of building inspiration, knowledge, and capacity of CCN teams and their City leadership to develop and implement children and nature strategies; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library Board accepts the gift of travel, meals, and lodging for a Library staff member to attend the meeting and thanks NLC for its generous gift.
