Authorizing the Police Department use of expenditures to include alcoholic beverages to be used for the Standardized Field Sobriety Test.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department is seeking authorization for expenditures to include alcoholic beverages, water, food and miscellaneous serving supplies, not to exceed $800, to be used for the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests; and
WHEREAS, the Standardized Field Sobriety tests are important training for the new police recruits regarding the effects of alcoholic beverages on people and the impairment it may cause; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose for the expense is public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves the public purpose for this Police Department expense.
