Accepting the gift of the partial costs of travel expenses from Minnesota Philanthropy Partners for Danette Parr, Taina Maki, and Russ Stark to attend a Nordic Cities Master Class in Copenhagen, Denmark, September 16-22, 2018.

WHEREAS, the Nordic Cities Solutions, a trade delegation of Nordic countries, has invited up to 4 representatives from St. Paul to attend a Nordic Cities Master Class in Copenhagen, Denmark, Sept 16-22, 2018, to learn about sustainable approaches to urban development; and
WHEREAS, at the Nordic Cities Master Class the participants will have the opportunity to learn and gain new insights on Nordic approaches in recent years to sustainable development and urban mobility; and
WHEREAS, Nordic City Solutions has offered to pay all expenses for the trip other than airfare from MSP to Copenhagen, and Minnesota Philanthropy Partners has offered to help offset the costs of airfare for St. Paul participants; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at the Master Class will be beneficial to the City in providing deeper understanding of sustainable approaches to urban development and mobility options; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of $3,000 toward the cost of travel expenses to the 2018 Nordic Cities Master Class, and thanks Minnesota Philanthropy Partners for its generous gift.
