Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs incurred for the Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team (MART) training on August 5-6, 2018.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Fire Department Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team (MART) team will holding two ARS training sessions on August 5, 2018 at Vadnais Lake and August 6, 2018 at Hidden Falls Lake; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department received $250,000 from the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education to purchase equipment and provide training for the MART team; and
WHEREAS, the MART money will be used to pay for these expenses; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this training is to provide the MART team members with the latest rescue techniques and the training takes place between 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; and
WHEREAS, this training will include 25 Fire department members and providing lunch each day will maximize the training time available at the training site; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds not to exceed $500 to provide lunch for the MART training participants.
