Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for $80,000 from the McNeely Foundation Giving Program grant program, and if funds are granted, to accept the granted funds for Swede Hollow Park master plan preparation.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through its ownership and operation of its parks and trails; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is committed to opportunities to make Saint Paul one of the most livable cities in the United States; and

 

WHEREAS, the McNeely Foundation Giving Program funds organizations that create a more vibrant and sustainable East Side of St. Paul, focusing on Family and Neighborhood Stability, Youth Development Through Enrichment and Employment, and Environment; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, wishes to prepare a Master Plan for the future design and development of Swede Hollow Park; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for, and if approved, authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the granted funds for Swede Hollow Park master plan preparation.
