Accepting the gift of bakery items and coffee for a ward two Community Coffee event.

WHEREAS, on May 11, 2018, Ward Two Council Member Noecker will host a “Community Coffee” at the North Garden Theater; and
WHEREAS, Community Coffee events are an opportunity for Council Member Noecker to communicate directly with constituents about issues facing Ward Two and the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Brake Bread has offered to provide bakery items and coffee to attendees of the event, such donation having an approximate value of $80.00; and
WHEREAS, the City wants to encourage residents to meet local officials and believes that providing refreshments will help encourage attendance and participation in the Community Coffee event thereby serving a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
1. Accepts the donation of bakery items and coffee worth approximately $80.00;
2. Appropriates the gift to the use of Council Member Noecker at the Community Coffee event;
3. Finds that the use of the gift by Council Member Noecker serves the public purpose of encouraging public engagement with elected officials in the City of Saint Paul; and
4. Thanks Brake Bread for the generous gift.
