Authorizing the Department of Planning and Economic Development to accept the donation of travel costs from City Energy Project for Kurt Schultz to attend the 2018 City Energy Project Convening.

 

Body

WHEREAS, City Energy Project, a joint initiative of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), is committed to creating healthier and more prosperous American cities by improving the energy efficiency of buildings and provides financial and technical support to select cities to advance energy efficiency efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, City Energy Project will be sponsoring the 2018 Convening, April 9 through April 11, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri, where some of the subjects discussed will be energy benchmarking, energy challenge programs, and audits/retrocommissioning; and

 

WHEREAS, Kurt Schultz has been invited to attend the Convening where the costs of travel, air, lodging and meals will be paid directly by City Energy Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the public purpose of Kurt Schultz’ participation in this event is to gain information that will benefit the City of Saint Paul’s energy efficiency initiatives; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Economic Development would like to accept this unsolicited donation with an estimated value of $2,500 (two thousand five hundred dollars); and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extends its sincere thanks to Natural Resources Defense Council, 40 West 20th Street, New York, NY 10011 and Institute for Market Transformation, 1707 L St. NW, Suite 1050, Washington, DC 20036.
