Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $40,000 to reflect additional funding received from the Berglund Family and Cedarwood Foundations for restoration of the historic Schiffman Fountain in Como Regional Park.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation manages and maintains ornamental sculptures and fountains in the park system, including the historic Schiffman Fountain in Como Regional Park; and

 

WHEREAS; this beloved sculpture and fountain has fallen into disrepair and is in need of an extensive restoration; and

 

WHEREAS, the Berglund Family and Cedarwood Foundations is providing $40,000 to support the restoration of the historic Schiffman Fountain in Como Regional Park; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to establish a new budget in the Grant Fund to receive the contribution revenue of $40,000 and establish a spending plan for this funding; and    

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $40,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves these amendments to the 2018 budget  and thanks the Berglund Family and Cedarwood Foundations for their generous donation.
