Authorizing Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant in the amount of $37,830 from the State of Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to provide Hazardous Material Tech training for firefighters. 

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide Hazardous Material Tech training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the State of Minnesota would be $37,830 for the Hazardous Material Tech training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 20% in-kind match of $9,458 which would be met with the salaries of the Fire Department training staffing coordinating the training; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
