Authorizing Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant in the amount of $16,118 from the State of Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for training for firefighters. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the State of Minnesota would be $16,118 for the training; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 20% in-kind match of $4,029.50 which would be met with the salaries of the firefighters attending the training; now, therefore, be it

 

 RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
