Authorizing the Police Department to donate a wrestling mat to the Friendly Hills Middle School Wrestling Program.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has a wrestling mat from the previous training center that no longer is being used and is not transferable to the new training space; and
WHEREAS, the department would like to donate the wrestling mat that has an estimated market value of $500-$900 to the Friendly Hills Middle School, Independent School District 197, as they are in need of a wrestling mat and has requested this donation to its wrestling program; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose and the Saint Paul Police Department’s desire is to assist this organization as it supports the youth program promotes good will; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Saint Paul Administrative Code Section 2.02 (G)(6)g and Minnesota Statute 471.85 the Police Department is asking for authorization to donate the wrestling mat to the Friendly Hills Middle School, Independent School District 197; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the Saint Paul Police Department to donate the wrestling mat to the Friendly Hills Middle School Wrestling Program.
