Title

Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Assistance to Firefighter grant in the amount of $112,900 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for command staff training, RIT packs, and Trench Rescue Prop. 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2017 Assistance to Firefighter grant to provide command staff training and purchase RIT packs and a trench rescue prop; and

WHEREAS, the total grant amount would be $112,900 of which the federal government would provide $102,637 for the training and equipment; and

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 10% match of $10,263 which would be paid from 10022210 - Fire Operations over the grant period of performance; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2017 Assistance to Firefighter grant.
