Authorizing the Police Department to amend the 2018 Grant Fund for the sub-grant received from Ramsey County for the Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET).
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has entered into the Joint Powers Agreement of the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team (RES 17-1680); and
WHEREAS, this agreement allows for SPPD’s participation and reimbursement of allowed expenses; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety has extended and increased the 2017 grant to Ramsey County to fund this program and Ramsey County has allocated the Saint Paul Police an additional $124,920 of these funds; and
WHEREAS, a 2018 financing and spending plan needs to be established and activity budget added for these grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $124,920 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2018 budget; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2018 budget.
