Approving a grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council, which contains an indemnification clause, for the Great River Passage River Balcony project.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council authorized the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for a Metropolitan Council Livable Communities TOD grant in the amount of $100,000 for schematic design of the Great River Passage River Balcony project in Resolution 17-1064; and
WHEREAS, the Department was awarded the grant and wishes to enter into the grant agreement, which contains an indemnification clause; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that the facilitation of the River Balcony is a legitimate public purpose; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure of public funds, which includes the promise of indemnification and defense, will facilitate that public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached agreement with the Metropolitan Council which contains an indemnification clause.
