Authorizing a Lease Agreement for Sprockets

WHEREAS, Sprockets is a collaborative effort among the City of Saint Paul, the Saint Paul Public Schools and community organizations to provide a network of quality after-school and summer programs for youth and teen in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, there is no individual entity formed by these partnerships, and Sprockets is in need of office space; and
WHEREAS, the budget for the City of Saint Paul Sprockets initiatives is within the Saint Paul Public Library Agency’s budget; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency wishes to enter into a Lease on behalf of Sprockets; and
WHEREAS, leases of over one year in length are required to obtain approval of the Board; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency Board finds that a two-year lease with the Saint Paul Public Schools for office space for Sprockets is within the budget and serves a purpose for the Sprockets program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library Agency Board authorizes the appropriate officials to enter into the attached Lease Agreement with the Saint Paul Public Schools on behalf of Sprockets.
