Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to submit a redevelopment proposal to the Board of Water Commissioners to accept tentative developer status for the Highland Reservoir site.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners released a Request for Redevelopment Proposals on August 14, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation submitted a Letter of Intent with initial development concepts, ownership options, and tentative project schedule on September 8, 2017 for the Highland Reservoir site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners favorably reviewed said Letter of Intent at their board meeting on September 12, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been invited to submit a full redevelopment proposal no later than November 17, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will propose to develop multi-use athletic fields on the site beginning in 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, a long-term lease will be proposed for the development; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is open to partnering with other government agencies on its proposal; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to submit a redevelopment proposal to the Board of Water Commissioners for the Highland Reservoir site.; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to enter into agreements with the Board of Water Commissioners to accept tentative developer status.
