Pertaining to an Agreement with Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization to provide a $5,000 contribution towards the cost of a study to determine best practices for alum treatment of Goose Lake in the city of White Bear Lake.

WHEREAS, Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization has requested that the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul contribute $5,000.00 towards the cost of an analysis of Goose Lake sediment in order to determine proper alum dosing requirements and develop a more accurate cost estimate for future alum treatment; and
WHEREAS, because Vadnais Lake can at times receive outflow from Goose Lake, the Board has determined it is appropriate to make such a contribution; and
WHEREAS, staff has prepared an agreement with Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization which provides for said contribution, and the assistant city attorney has reviewed and approved same as to form; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners does hereby approve the Agreement for Goose Lake Sediment Analysis and Alum Dosing Study which authorizes the Board to contribute $5,000.00 toward the cost of the study, and that the proper officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the Board.
