Accepting the gift of transportation and lodging expenses from The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) for David Gorski to attend the “Making Paid Sick Days Work: Sharing Strategies 2017” conference convening in Washington, D.C., September 24 - 26, 2017. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) is hosting a conference in Washington, D.C., September 24 - 26, 2017 for enforcement agencies, advocates and funders of paid sick day initiatives; and

 

WHEREAS, David Gorski, Contract Compliance Supervisor for the City of Saint Paul in the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity, and oversees the implementation and enforcement of the city’s earned sick and safe time ordinance; and

 

WHEREAS, CLASP has offered to reimburse travel expenses including hotel accommodations, airfare and ground transportation up to $1,010.00 for David Gorski to attend said event; and

 

WHEREAS, David Gorski’s attendance at this event will serve a public purpose in allowing him to meet with other enforcement agencies to discuss how to improve implementation and enforcement strategies around paid sick day laws; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the residents of Saint Paul, accept the gift of travel expense reimbursement for the “Making Paid Sick Days Work: Strategies 2017” conference and appropriates it to the intended use for David Gorski to attend.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul thanks CLASP for this generous gift.
