WHEREAS, Rice Park will be undergoing renovations in 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Garden Club has requested permission to sell existing plants from Rice Park at a plant sale in the fall and use the money for the renovation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation does not anticipate reusing the current plants in the renovation of Rice Park and would not be able to operate a plant sale on its own; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to work with the Saint Paul Garden Club to remove the plants which will not be part of the Rice Park renovation and to sell the plants, with the funds raised being returned to the City for use in the 2018 renovation of Rice Park.
