Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation of fishing equipment from Cabela's, Woodbury, MN for the Police Athletic League program.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department has received a letter of intent to donate fishing equipment and supplies from Cabela’s, Woodbury, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, these supplies will be used to further the Police Athletic League (PAL) program and specifically in-kind support with the Cops and Bobbers funded by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Angler and Hunter Recruitment and Retention grant (RES PH 17-120), and
WHEREAS, this donation includes 300 youth fishing rods, bobbers, hooks and sinkers with a value of $7,500; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to support the community-based youth mentoring programs building positive police relationships; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the council accepts this donation, and extends its sincere thanks to Cabela’s, Woodbury, Minnesota.
