WHEREAS, the Second Hand Dealer-Motor Vehicle Parts license application submitted by Maypop Sales and Service d/b/a Maypop Sales and Service (License ID# 20150001887) for the premises located at 2554 Como Avenue in Saint Paul was the subject of a Notice of Intent to Deny License dated June 27, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the Notice of Intent to Deny License stated the applicant failed to submit the information required to complete the application process; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) also received a complaint on June 1, 2017 concerning multiple code issues and exterior storage of tires and a DSI Inspector came to the premises and took photographs of tires and refuse stacked outside; and

WHEREAS, DSI was notified on June 9, 2017 that the applicant had placed ads on Craig’s List regarding the sale of tires at 2554 Como Avenue indicating he was operating without a license; and

WHEREAS, a Summary Abatement Order was sent to the occupant and owner at 2554 Como Avenue ordering removal of all tires, junk, metal scraps, wood scraps and discarded materials form the property by June 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the Summary Abatement Order also stated that the business Maypop Sales and Service had been condemned and order to vacate by June 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, because the applicant failed to submit the required information to complete the application process and was obviously operating without the appropriate license, the licensing office recommended license denial; and

WHEREAS, the applicant did not respond to the Notice of Intent to Deny License to request a public or administrative hearing or withdraw his license application; and
