Approving a discontinuation of the practice of street co-naming.

Whereas, co-naming a street has been one way in which prominent Saint Paul residents have been honored; and
Whereas, there are variety of other ways to honor individuals including proclamations and resolutions; and
Whereas, a street co-name sign has confused some in the public who do not recognize the official street name, resulting in the potential for miscommunication in an emergency situation;
Now therefore be it resolved that the Saint Paul City Council will honor residents in other ways and discontinue until further notice the practice of street co-naming.
