Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation under a sponsor agreement with the Saint Paul Police Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was awarded an unconditional grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation of which $13,500 will be issued to the Saint Paul Police Department to be used to support the Saint Paul Police Explorer Program; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation for which the public purpose is the engaging of inner city youths, exposing them to law enforcement and establishing mentoring relationships with Saint Paul officers; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.
