Appeal of Thong Her, Sierra Properties, to a Vacant Building Registration Notice plus Revocation of Fire Certificate of Occupancy and Order to Vacate at 1177 ALBEMARLE STREET.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, January 10, 2017, 2:30 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  I received no instructions or notifications prior to from the fire inspector.  Last time we met, I installed the CO and smoke detectors as he requested.  I told him I was under the process of remodeling the basement downstairs.  I have a medical condition that impedes some of the physical work needed; that is why it has taken a while as well.  He said he would give me time to do it the last time we met.

Date of Order(s) Under Appeal:  December 29 and December 27 respectively

Inspector/Key Staff:  Matt Dornfeld and Grant Heitman respectively

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Photos attached.  The order to vacate does not have a reinspection date.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Thong Her, Sierra Properties, to a Vacant Building Registration Notice plus Revocation of Fire Certificate of Occupancy and Order to Vacate at 1177 ALBEMARLE STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council change vacant building status to Category 1 and waive the vacant building fee for 90 days from January 24, 2017 (to April 24, 2017) to get the Fire Certificate of Occupancy reinstated; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
