Authorizing Police Department to accept a grant in the amount of $225,000 from the Otto Bremer Trust, sponsored by the Saint Paul Police Foundation, and amend the 2017 budget for these funds.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was awarded a grant from the Otto Bremer Trust for the purpose of supporting and expanding the community outreach and engagement efforts of the Saint Paul Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation has dispersed $225,000 of these granted funds to the Saint Paul Police Department and have entered into a Sponsor Agreement; and
WHEREAS, grant activity budget needs to be added for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $225,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget and recommends the changes as follows; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the Activity budget.
