Honoring Lou "The Photo Guy" Michaels for his 50th year of business and his ongoing commitment to Saint Paul.

WHEREAS, Lou “The Photo Guy” Michaels has led a successful photography career and business, covering “All The Angles” in the city of Saint Paul since November 1966; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has faithfully served the West End community as a photographer for the Community Reporter; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has faithfully served the southwest area of Saint Paul, and neighboring communities in south Minneapolis, Lilydale and Mendota Heights as a photographer for the Villager Newspaper; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has served as an accredited photojournalist covering the Minnesota Senate, as well as maintaining membership with the National Press Photographers Association and the Minnesota Newspaper Association; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has served as a registered photographer for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, also known as M.I.A.C.; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has served his community through his involvement with local civic groups including the Rotary, Kiwanis, Moose, Elks, and Lions clubs to name a few; and
WHEREAS, Lou Michaels has been involved with the Saint Paul Winter Carnival as 2010 Senior Prime Minister, 2013 Prime Minister and 2015 King Winter the 57th of the Senior Royalty; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul recognizes Lou “The Photo Guy” Michaels as a longstanding community builder, contributor, and esteemed resident of the City of Saint Paul, and congratulates him on his 50th year of business, on this date of March 8, 2017.
