Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Emergency Management in the amount of $176,426 to accept the 2016 Port Security Grant to enhance the Fire Department's water response and rescue capabilities.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Emergency Management has applied for and received a 2016 Port Security Grant of $235,235 from the Department of Homeland Security which has a federal share of $176,426 and a 25% matching fund contribution of $58,809 to enhance the water response and rescue capabilities for the Fire Department, and

 

WHEREAS, the matching fund contribution of $58,809 will be met with an in-kind match from accounting unit 10022210 over the performance period of the grant, and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations, funds of $176,426 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2017 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
