Authorizing the Saint Paul Public Library Agency to hold a volunteer recognition event.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Library volunteers enhance services that are provided by offering a wide variety of talents, skills and time to assist in Library programs and tasks; and
WHEREAS, about 872 adult volunteers and 154 youth volunteers contributed over 29,322 hours in 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library will hold a volunteer recognition dinner program at the Landmark Center in the spring of 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library will recognize youths in the fall of 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library has received monies from the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library to pay for the event; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library officials are authorized and directed to undertake the staging of the event and remit the cost not to exceed $14,600 for the event to the proper parties.
