Pertaining to acceptance of a gift from Water Research Foundation as reimbursement of costs related to SPRWS General Manager attendance at the Foundation’s January 2017 executive board meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Body
WHEREAS, the Water Research Foundation is a non-profit that sponsors research to help water utilities, public health agencies, and other professionals worldwide providing safe, affordable and plentiful drinking water; and
WHEREAS, SPRWS General Manager Stephen Schneider serves on the Water Research Foundation Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation has requested that SPRWS General Manager Stephen Schneider attend the Foundation’s executive board meeting to be held January 12-15, 2017 in Scottsdale, Arizona in order to participate in discussions on future research priorities and initiatives, and has offered to reimburse the Board for all airfare and lodging costs associated with Mr. Schneider’s attendance; and
WHEREAS, staff believes that participation in this conference will provide a benefit to SPRWS and has requested that the Board accept the gift of cost reimbursement; now, therefore, be it
WHEREAS, that the Board of Water Commissioners hereby accepts from Water Research Foundation the gift of reimbursement of airfare and lodging costs incurred by the attendance of SPRWS General Manager Stephen Schneider at the Foundation’s January 2017 meeting of its executive board in Scottsdale, Arizona; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board extends its thanks to Water Research Foundation for its generous gift.
