Amending the financing and spending budget in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $539,000 for Metropolitan Council Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment funds for Indian Mounds Regional Park; and accepting the grant funds from the Metropolitan Council through the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment, Parks and Trails FY 2016-17 program.

Body

WHEREAS, City Council is typically requested to approve project grant applications (CF #14-1618) that include preliminary project budget estimates; and

WHEREAS, final grant amounts awarded may be more or less than this original estimate based on a specific formula determined by the Metropolitan Council and adjusted at the time of actual grant award; and

WHEREAS, under the Minnesota Session Laws of 2016 which includes an appropriation to the
Metropolitan Council for Regional Park and Open Space Development grants, the City of Saint Paul was awarded $539,000 for Indian Mounds Regional Park to continue implementation of the adopted Master Plan to include a splash pad; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation desires to amend the financing and spending plan for said grant; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will provide construction management and implementation services for the project upon the amendment of the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $539,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Committee, that $539,000 is available for appropriation in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, is hereby further amended as outlined in the attached Financial An...
