Authorizing Police Department to accept the granted donations in the amount of $38,791 from the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation of $38,791 to the Saint Paul Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donations for 300 outer carrier police vests and equipment for the SWAT unit and hostage negotiators; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose served is to improve the safety and effectiveness of the officers in these units with equipment and supplies; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
