Approving the HRA 2017 proposed budget and certifying the proposed Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota (HRA) tax levy payable in 2017.

WHEREAS, staff has presented to the Saint Paul City Council the 2017 HRA proposed budget of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota (“HRA”) for its consideration; and
WHEREAS, the HRA Board of Commissioners, in order to comply with the State of Minnesota’s Truth-In-Taxation laws, MN. Stat. Section 275.065 Subdivision 1, must certify a proposed property tax levy payable in 2017 to Ramsey County by September 15, 2016: and
WHEREAS, the HRA proposed property tax levy payable in 2017, is $3,546,597, calculated as follows:
HRA General Fund $3,475,665
2.0% Delinquency Allowance 70,932
Proposed HRA Tax Levy $3,546,597
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota as follows:
1. The 2017 Proposed Budget is accepted and approved by the City Council.
2. The proposed HRA property tax levy for tax payable in 2017 in the amount of $3,546,597 is approved and certified to Ramsey County for use in calculating the Truth-in-Taxation Notification.
